ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mr. Ohenoja has performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra of Seoul, South Korea, Malmö Symphony Orchestra of Sweden and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Antti was a founding member of the Oulu Percussion Group. His work with the Avanti Chamber Orchestra has included tours throughout the US and Europe, where he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
Originally from Finland, he studied at the University of Toronto and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Mr. Ohenoja holds a Master of Music degree from the Sibelius Academy and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto. Presently, he is finishing a Doctor of Music degree at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. He has studied percussion with Russell Hartenberger, John Rudolph, Bob Becker, Beverley Johnston, Gordon Stout and Eric Sammut.
In 2022 he will begin a full-time percussion teaching position at the Lappeenranta Institute of Music in Finland. Mr. Ohenoja has taught clinics in Canada, South Korea and Finland. He has also performed at PASIC in Columbus, Ohio and Austin, Texas with Nexus and marimba soloist Beverley Johnston. In 2011 he received the 1st prize at the Italy PAS international snare drum competition.
